On one of London’s streets, shortly before Christmas, a new image appeared. It was not preceded by an announcement. No explanation followed. Two children, dressed for winter, lie on the ground and look upward — towards a sky we cannot see, yet instinctively imagine.
The work belongs to Banksy — an artist whose presence in urban space is always devoid of direct commentary, and whose refusal of public identification has become part of the meaning of his art. He is a real person who consciously removes himself from view, allowing the image to exist without intermediaries.
